Championing Sustainable Design
Director of May Design Sdn. Bhd., LAr. Ang See May is a certified landscape architect with over 15 years of industry experience. Since receiving the MLAA Young Landscape Architect Award in 2019, she has emerged as a key voice in promoting sustainability and Nature-based Solutions in northern Malaysia.
The award became a turning point in her professional journey, opening doors to leadership roles including Vice Chairman of the ILAM Northern Chapter from 2020 to 2024. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, she actively organised events and initiatives that raised awareness about the role of landscape architecture in building greener, healthier communities.
Running her own practice has strengthened her self-management and interpersonal skills, while the award recognition helped her redefine her aspirations and reaffirm her purpose in both career and life. Today, she continues to inspire by advocating for meaningful, climate-responsive design while mentoring others in the profession.
